As a Sponsoring Organization in ECCHO, Avalon International recognizes the ECCHO rule set for check image exchange as the only private sector image exchange rules available today. ECCHO, the Electronic Check Clearing House Organization, isa not-for-profit, mutual benefit national clearinghouse that is 100% owned by its members which can include any depository financial institution in the U.S. Institutions that are covered by ECCHO's clearing house rules hold approximately 60% of the total U.S. deposits. Created by banks in 1990 as a cooperative venture to encourage electronic check presentment, ECCHO now enjoys a membership of over 1,000 U.S. financial institutions of all sizes and geographic locations.
